In the year 2004 Al-Burhan group started construction work on a Concrete Sleeper Factory based in the Abu Ghraib Area, this being Our most ambitious and motivated Project to-date we have enlisted the Guidance of Dow-Mac in the UK to manufacture Equipment for the factory. The factory will rival any other production facility in the region for concrete sleepers, producing 2,800 per Day and is Due for Completion in 2005.
Combining the Construction skills of Burhan Construction and the administrative ones of its directors the Group is not only Building the factory but maintaining it as a private asset for the production and supply of sleepers to the Iraqi Ministry of Transport. The group is also using its own finances to foot the Massive cost of constructing this 60 hector Site into a modern production facility.
Abu Ghraib is Located 20Km Outside Baghdad the factory has excellent transport links and is also prime real-estate in the fledgling Iraqi property market.
The Concrete sleepers factory was originally constructed in 1982 by Dow-Mac Ltd in he UK and operated by IHP, India. The factory set a new world record for producing 2250 sleepers per-day but was closed down Due to the Liberation of Iraq in 2003. by 2005 we aim to have the factory restored to its original state with greater abilities than before.
