Al-Burhan Group and renowned Russian company Technopromexport (TPE) have held meetings with Raad Al-Haris, Iraqi Senior Deputy of the Ministry of Electricity, in Baghdad to set the starting date for a huge expansion plan on Al-Hartha Power Plant. The negotiations were initiated as a high-level TPE delegation visited Iraq to give an overview of the expansion plan and a number of new electricity projects across Iraq.
During these negotiations ABG and TPE set to increase the capacity of Al-Hartha Power Station to 400 megawatts by carrying out a variety of complex operations in order to bring the power plant back to full operation. The Russian company will also modernise the station to be environment-friendly and contribute positively to the welfare of local residents.
ABG and TPE have also intensified talks to identify potential locations in Iraq for setting up hydropower and geothermal power plants. TPE boasts experience in establishing non-polluting technologies aimed at establishing effective plants in Iraq so as to generate more power for its national grid and protect energy resources and the environment at the same time.
The project is another achievement for Al-Burhan Group's record. It also maintains ABG's strategic partnership with international companies to modernise the electricity sector in Iraq.
