On the 20th - 21st of October, Technopromexport (TPE) delegation and Al-Burhan Group (ABG) representative attended meeting at MOE with Senior Deputy Minster in the presence of director general of Electrical Energy Production Projects (EEPP).
Parties discussed thoroughly issues related to the resumption of work at Al-Youssifiyah power station and agreed upon many core issues such as executing the project in two phases instead of one as well as the security measures that should be taken to ensure the safety and security of TPE specialists such as transportation from and to the airport and transportation to the project site, MOE also requested TPE to submit an offer for a close cycle cooling system to overcome the shortage of water resources at the site in the present time.
Al-Youssifiyah power station is considered one of TPE’s most strategic projects in Iraq; it aims to increase the station’s electricity production significantly and regarded as one of MOE main projects in its Master plan which aims to increase the overall Iraqi electricity production by the year 2010.
MOE has chosen TPE and ABG as its strategic partner to create sustainable power production to meet the country’s demand for electricity which is set to increase rapidly in years to come. TPE and ABG also were chosen by MOE to rehabilitate Al-Hartha Power station.
TPE was represented by project manager Mr. Andrey Melnikov, head of TPE office in Amman / Baghdad Mr. Oleg Sheikin, assistant project manager Mr. Artem Sidorov, engineer Mr. Alexander Samoshkin and TPE coordinator / Al-Burhan Group Director of Strategic Planning & Engineering - Mr. Qais Al-Ani.
