In order to supply Iraqi Republic Railway with the concrete sleepers with Fastclip System from Pandrol, Al Burhan Group took a step ahead by signing a contract with Pandrol UK to supply 300,000 sets of Fastclips to be the first batch of fastening to be supplied to Iraqi Republic Railway in order to be used in the Abu Grahib Sleeper Factory which is currently under rehabilitation by Al Burhan Group.

These concrete sleepers with the fastening system from Pandrol UK will satisfy the high specification requirements of Iraqi Republic Railway to have a high speed railway network in Iraq.

This contract will be the first step for a long term relation between Pandrol UK, Al Burhan Group & the Ministry of Transport represented by Iraqi Republic Railways. The move towards enrolling into a long term revolving contract was on an initial base of 300,000 each semester to satisfy the requirements of the production facility of Abu Grahib sleeper factory in Baghdad.

According to the estimation of the Iraqi Ministry of Transport the yearly requirement of Pandrol fastening system type Fastclip will be a set of 2 million every year, depending on the production capacity of Abu Grahib Sleeper factory & completing the construction & operation of the new concrete sleeper factory in Samawa.

Al Burhan Group is the exclusive agent of Pandrol UK in Iraq. The relation between both parties has been developed to supply different types of projects that can support the Pandrol Fastening Systems (Fast Clip System) & PR607.

Since 2005, Al Burhan Group has managed to supply 350,000 concrete sleepers with Pandrol Fast Clips and intend to continue the relation with Pandrol UK and supply more sleepers from Abu Grahib Sleeper Factory.

Currently Iraqi Republic Railway have a number of projects to construct new railway lines either inside Iraq or to connect with the neighbouring countries (Turkey, Iran & Jordan) as well to maintain old tracks and adopt the new fastening system which can cope with high speed trains.
