Al Burhan Group signed an annex to the contract with Iraqi Republic Railways to supply 40,000 concrete sleepers. This is an annex of the existing contract in which Al Burhan Group is to supply 200,000 concrete sleepers with Pandrol Fastclip rail fastening systems.

These concrete sleepers will be a part of Iraqi Republic Railways plans of extension to several existing tracks and laying of new tracks within the country and also for links with Iraq’s neighbouring countries.

Al Burhan Group will supply these concrete sleepers by rail from the production facility in Aleppo/Syria and will be transported to Sabonya railway station in Mosul, Northern Iraq. Iraqi Republic Railway have planned to transport these sleepers to another construction site in the South of Iraq in order to connect the track to the Iraqi Republic Railways network.

These concrete sleepers will satisfy Iraqi Republic Railways’ specification requirements to have a high speed railway network in Iraq.
