Al-Burhan Group (ABG) has represented its partner, security giant G4S, in a meeting held between the UK's Department for Transport (DfT) and the Iraqi Ministry of Transport (MoT) delegation in London. The DFT requested the visit to discuss the arrangement of the development of security procedures undertaken at Iraqi airports, and to discuss the exchange of security and technical formation.
The DfT asked the Iraqi delegation to urge the Iraqi Parliament to endorse its nationwide security plan in view of the fact that such action will consolidate the status of Iraqi airport safety and aviation security between Iraq and the outside world. It will also have significant impact on trade, investment and tourism in both countries.
The two parties highlighted the ways to comply with UK ICAO standards for aviation security and discussed the outcomes of UK observation teams in Baghdad International Airport (BIAP). The Iraqi delegation visited Gatwick Airport to examine the procedures taken in force and to have direct view of the ways to handle security threats.
ABG and G4S provide security for Baghdad International Airport and have held extensive talks with DfT Senior Officials as well as top officials from Iraq’s MoT, regarding the security, safety and quality procedures for the airlines in order to ensure the forthcoming operation of direct flights between Baghdad and London.
Al-Burhan Group maintains a strategic partnership with G4S which undertakes the provision of security for Baghdad International Airport (BIAP). The launching of the flights will add another achievement to the record of Al-Burhan Group.
