Al-Burhan Group (ABG) and its partner renowned US-based Progress Rail Services have supplied four stylish ballast regulators to the Iraqi Republic Railways (IRR). The machinery supply, which will be delivered to Iraq in two months, reveals the IRR's intention to keep up to date with railway equipment technology.

The machinery supplied by Progress Rail Services is the latest in high-tech machinery to carry out ballast shaping, shoulder profiling , ballast sweeping and a variety of other track maintenance operations.

The contract will help IRR maintain its existing sophisticated machinery and continue its ambitious plan to expand the existed network and create new links across Iraq. The government of Iraq has great plans for a railway expansion programme so as to meet the growing needs of the population and national industrial sector.
