Batching Plant, Silo, Aggregate Storage and Concrete Distribution
Aggregate are stored in 6 No. Stock piles and are receiving direct from rail wagons or lorry into a by an included belt conveyor, mounted with turntable socket and driving rack in order to fill all six stock piles.
From these stock piles the materials are collected by a front loader and chargede into a receiving hopper, standing below ground level and are conveyed by a inclining belt on a motor operated turnable socket, distributing the materials into the six silos.
The silo tower includes one mixer platform for 2 No. 1500ltr. Mixers with separate control cabin, and 6 No. Silos, each for approx. 50cbm. Levelled measure, the silos to be provided with a cover, the mixer platform cladded in steel plate. Under the mixer platform there is incorporated a service platform for the 2 travelling buckets.
The batching of aggregate materials is effected by a vibratory feeder, located under each silo, direct into the weigh hopper from where the materials are conveyed into the mixer by distribution pipe.
Cement kept in 8 No. 125m³ silos, located next to the mixer tower, and is conveyed by 6 No. Cement screw conveyors and a pneumatic conveying system to a 100 ton consumer cement silo placed just beside the mixers. From this silo the cement is distributed by 2 No. Cement screw conveyors to 2 cement weigh hoppers.
Water is discharged direct into the mixers by 2 No. Water proportioning plants, securing a constant concrete constancy, as the system measures direct in the mixing pan and thus takes into consideration the moisture content of the aggregates.
The batching and mixing plant is controlled from a central control desk, placed in the control cabin. The batching of water, cement and aggregate materials is controlled by computer containing 30 pre-set recipes with possibility for 1/1, ¾ and ½ mix. The batching plant proportions the aggregate materials in turn to the two mixers, meaning that the cycle time for the batching plant will be appox. 80 – 90 sec, resulting in a capacity of 1 cbm. (2400kgs) concrete from each mixer every 3 minutes.
The distribution of concrete from the mixing to the concrete casting machines is carried out be means of 2 No. Concrete travelling buckets, each conveying 1 cbm. at a time to the transverse of the casting machine where the concrete is discharged automatically into the slave hopper. The salve hopper brings the concrete to the pouring machine which is then able to pour the concrete into the moulds.
The individual cycle times for the batching plant, mixing plant, travelling bucket system and the slave hoppers are all max. 180 sec, this meaning that the plant is able to take 20 cbm. of concrete per hour to each side of the production hall.
The controls of the mixing plant and of the travelling bucket system are connected so that the concrete is discharged into the travelling bucket which drives automatically to the transverse and discharge the concrete into the slave hopper. In cases where the slave hopper is not in position to receive the concrete the travelling bucket stops over the transverse and on arrival of the slave hopper to the charging position the travel bucket starts again, locates the transverse and discharge the concrete after which the travelling bucket returns to the mixer.
